In Nimes, in the Gard area, Geomines contributes to the securing of Terres de Rouvière. The above-mentioned site consists of 45 hectares, recently acquired from the French army by the city of Nimes. The newly-transferred site will soon serve as a playground and a walking area for its new users.
The land survey and pyrotechnic clearance operations, launched by Geomines on April, 23 2018, came to a successful on March, 08 2019. These operations permitted the discovery of several metallic fragments, and ensure that no explosives materials were present on site. These fragments have been since dealt with by Geomines’ experts.
This area being now secured, landscaping operations can now commence in order to allow for a safe and full use of this zone by 2021.
